Machine Learning and Optimization Lab (MLO) at City University of Hong Kong primarily performs research in understanding and improving the reliability of modern machine learning systems. Our research interests include the following areas:

• Robustness of multimodal large models.
• Privacy-preserving machine learning systems.
• Efficient learning algorithms, especially for large language models.
• Optimization and generalization properties of machine learning algorithms.
• Interdisciplinary applications of machine learning, especially in the domain of FinTech.
